Premier and Minister for the Arts
The Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and laid a wreath on behalf of all Queenslanders at the cenotaph, which commemorates the victims of the atomic bomb that was dropped in 1945.

It is the first time any Queensland Premier has laid a wreath at the memorial and signifies the close ties between Queensland and Japan.

Ms Palaszczuk also visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and signed the guest book, which was recently signed by United States President Barack Obama when he visited in May.
