Brisbane woman recognised for building industry excellence

Paynter Dixon Queensland Senior Contract Administrator Katrina Tomkins has been recognised for excellence in the field, taking out top honours in the ‘Women in Building’ category of this year’s Master Builders Housing and Construction Awards.

Minister for Housing and Public Works Mick de Brenni congratulated Ms Tomkins on her achievement.

“Katrina has worked in the construction industry for the past 11 years during which she has generously shared her skills and knowledge by mentoring younger staff,” Mr de Brenni said.

“Women are increasingly playing leadership roles in our construction industry and it’s great to see Katrina recognised publicly for her leadership and I wish her all the very best in her career.”

Paynter Dixon Queensland General Manager Brett Johnston congratulated Katrina on her Award.

“Katrina is an outstanding mentor for our up and coming cadets and we were so proud of her achievement & recognition on Friday evening,” Mr Johnston said.

Mr de Brenni said the Master Builders Housing and Construction Awards showcased excellence right across Queensland’s housing and construction industry.

“These awards provide an opportunity to highlight the very best across the building and construction industry from individuals just starting their careers and local family businesses to long-established national companies,” he said.

“It is clear from this year’s award winners that Queensland’s building and construction industry is in safe hands.”
