Racing Minister Grace Grace will join hundreds of country racegoers trackside at Moranbah’s Australia Day race meeting tomorrow.

Ms Grace said the five race card was expected to draw a bumper crowd at the town’s first race meeting of 2016.

“Moranbah locals love their racing and punters are expected to be out in force for the annual Australia Day meeting,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to meeting with racegoers, trainers, owners, jockeys and stable staff tomorrow.

“They’re all part of an important industry which employs thousands of Queenslanders throughout the State.

“Country racing is the heart and soul of the industry and race meetings are an important part of life in regional Queensland.

“The Palaszczuk Government is a great supporter of country racing through our $21 million Queensland Country Racing Support Program.

“This package gives country racing the certainty it needs to grow and prosper into the future.”
