Minister for Education and Minister for Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games
The Honourable Kate Jones

Minister for Small Business Kate Jones and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) are committed to addressing the significant regulatory burden facing Queensland small businesses.

The Red Tape Reduction Advisory Council, which includes CCIQ’s Chief Executive Officer Stephen Tait, will work through real-life examples where government can reduce red-tape to relieve the burden on Queensland small businesses.

Since a baseline of regulatory requirements was first established in 2012, the Palaszczuk Government and CCIQ will continue to work together ensure that new regulatory requirements do not impose unnecessary and unintended burdens on Queensland businesses.

We are focused on working together to analyse the issues that impose a significant regulatory burden on business, identifying reform projects and making recommendations on regulatory reform across industry sectors.
