"The Queensland Government has been working hand-in-glove with our Northern Australian colleagues to strongly support the live cattle trade," Minister Byrne said.

"I was pleased to be able to meet with the Indonesian Co-Ordinating Minister for Economic Affairs this morning and be able to discuss this important decision.

"The Palaszczuk government has an ongoing commitment to supporting our primary producers to ensure they have ongoing export opportunities for their quality Agricultural products. The live export trade supports hundreds of jobs across Queensland."

The visit to Indonesia by the Northern Territory and Queensland represents the first visit to the country since the initial decision to issue 50,000 permits for quarter three was released.

"Labor is working with our Northern Australia colleagues to ensure real benefits flow to our farmers and also to the region. We don't just talk about supporting jobs - we deliver for jobs.

"You can only hear these results first hand if you have the relationships and dialogue in person. That's why I'm so glad that our state was represented here today in Indonesia supporting Queensland jobs."
