Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk today announced that Stretton and Sunnybank would play host to her government’s third Community Cabinet on 2 and 3 August.

The Premier said Brisbane’s Southern Suburbs were open for business and a Community Cabinet was a great chance for locals to have a say.

“We are inviting local businesses, families and workers to come along to share their ideas.”

Member for Stretton, Duncan Pegg said he was looking forward to welcoming the Cabinet to his electorate.

“We promised we would be an accessible Government and holding a Community Cabinet here in Stretton shows we’re serious,” Mr Pegg said.

Member for Sunnybank Peter Russo, said it was a great chance for the local community to raise issues with the Government.

“Community Cabinet will give people the opportunity to speak directly with Ministers and Directors-General about issues affecting our region,” he said.

The Southern Suburbs Community Cabinet will be held on Sunday 2 and Monday 3 August at Stretton State College.

A public forum will be held from 1pm, Sunday 2 August, with formal deputations to take place from 2.15pm to 4.30pm.

The community is encouraged to request a formal deputation to ensure a meeting with the representative of their choice.
