Treasurer, Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships
The Honourable Curtis Pitt

The views raised in the RTI documents relate to the former LNP government’s interactions with and approach to Adani.

They do not reflect the views of the current government or Queensland Treasury.

Former Under Treasurer Mark Gray is no longer with Queensland Treasury.

We welcome Adani’s significant investment proposal in Queensland with the Carmichael Coal Project and enabling infrastructure.

The Palaszczuk Government expects Adani to meet all of its obligations in relation to the relevant State and Commonwealth legislation.

Whilst elements of our interactions with Adani will need to remain matters of commercial in confidence, we will be open with Queenslanders about the development of the Galilee.

We will meet all our election commitments on this project, both in terms of the dredging project at Abbot Point and not making direct government contributions towards funding the railway.

The Palaszczuk Government is committed to creating jobs throughout Queensland and we support the sustainable development of the Galilee Basin.
