The Honourable Shannon Fentiman

Tickets are now on sale for the 2015 Queensland Multicultural Awards gala dinner which will be held on Saturday 22 August.

Multicultural Affairs Minister Shannon Fentiman said Queenslanders had the chance to be part of the gala dinner, which was one of the most prestigious events in the state’s multicultural calendar and help celebrate the achievements of our multicultural champions.

The Multicultural Awards, which have been running for 25 years, recognise individuals, businesses and community organisations who work and volunteer to promote multiculturalism and harmony across Queensland.

“In what must have been a tough job for the judges, 23 deserving finalists have been chosen across the six awards categories from 123 nominations,” said Ms Fentiman.

“I was really pleased to see that this year we’ve had the highest number of nominations in the past five years, and it's great to see so many finalists from regional Queensland.

“The winners will be announced at the gala dinner, and I wish all finalists the best of luck.”

There will also be a Minister’s Award for Multiculturalism in Queensland, with the winner selected from the finalists.

Nominations have been chosen across the following categories:

  • Services and Communities
  • Business Excellence
  • Education and Training Innovation
  • Outstanding Volunteer
  • Communications and Media Achievement
  • Multicultural Ambassador

The 2015 Queensland Multicultural Awards gala dinner will kick off Queensland Multicultural Week from 22-30 August.

Tickets are now on sale at www.qldmulticulturalweek.com.au/participate/gala-dinner/  and cost $150 per head.   They sold out early last year, so get in quick.

The dinner includes a three course meal, beverages and spectacular multicultural entertainment throughout the night.
