A range of road improvement projects will be rolled out across the state as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s Safer Roads Sooner program.

Main Roads and Road Safety Minister Mark Bailey said the $37 million Safer Roads Sooner initiative provides funds for road improvement works across Queensland.

“These works are all about maintaining the safety of motorists on the state’s road network. As an added bonus, the road projects are providing jobs for workers at a time when jobs and jobs security are more important than ever,” Mr Bailey said.

The Minister said drivers travelling on the Leichhardt Highway will benefit from $350,000 in road improvement works.

“Fatigue signage will be installed to encourage tired drivers to take a break at safe stopping locations along the Leichhardt Highway,” he said.

Under the Safer Roads Sooner initiative, 54 new projects are being undertaken across Queensland, with works to be carried out within the next two years.
