A range of road improvement projects will be rolled out across the state as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s Safer Roads Sooner program.

Main Roads and Road Safety Minister Mark Bailey said the $37 million Safer Roads Sooner initiative provides funds for road improvement works across Queensland.

“These works are all about maintaining the safety of motorists on the state’s road network. As an added bonus, the road projects are providing jobs for workers at a time when jobs and jobs security are more important than ever,” Mr Bailey said.

Mr Bailey said drivers in and around Warwick would benefit from $485,000 in road improvement works to enhance safety.

“A new rest area will be built on the highway about 40km south of Warwick, between Cottonvale and Dalveen, to give tired drivers the opportunity to take a break. Signage and new line marking work will also be installed to enable motorists to safely access the rest area,” he said.

Under the Safer Roads Sooner initiative, 54 new projects are being undertaken across Queensland, with works to be carried out within the next two years.
