A range of road improvement projects will be rolled out across the state as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s Safer Roads Sooner program.

Main Roads and Road Safety Minister Mark Bailey said the $37 million Safer Roads Sooner initiative provides funds for road improvement works across Queensland.

“These works are all about maintaining the safety of motorists on the state’s road network. As an added bonus, the road projects are providing jobs for workers at a time when jobs and jobs security are more important than ever,” Mr Bailey said.

The Minister said drivers in the Beenleigh area would benefit from $839,000 in road improvements works to enhance safety on local roads.

“These works include improvements to the intersection of Beenleigh Connection Road, Honeyman Street and Bura Street in Beenleigh,” he said.

“Works will include signal enhancements, installation of special vehicle activated signs and intersection improvements.”

Under the Safer Roads Sooner initiative, 54 new road projects are being undertaken across Queensland, with works to be carried out within the next two years.
