Submissions welcomed for Review of Queensland Greyhound Racing industry

Greyhound owners, trainers and members of the public have today been invited to contribute to the independent review of the state’s greyhound racing industry.

Minister for Sport and Racing, Bill Byrne, said he welcomed public input following the Terms of Reference, which detailed the purpose and structure of the review, being finalised and published online.

“I have commissioned this review to determine how live baiting was allowed to go undetected, how widespread the practice is and what changes are needed.

“Consultation with the key stakeholders and the wider community is an essential component of this review.

“I encourage anyone with important information or recommendations to make a submission to the review.”

More information about the Terms of Reference and public submission process can be found on the review website at www.greyhoundreview.qld.gov.au or telephone the review hotline on 1300 791 224 between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Submissions close at 5pm on 30 March 2015.
