Premier Palaszczuk brings Community Cabinet to Gladstone in 2016

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced that the first Community Cabinet of 2016 will be held in Gladstone on Sunday January 31 and February 1 2016.

“My government is working closely with industry and business to create jobs and grow Queensland’s economy, and Gladstone has an important role to play,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

“Community Cabinet meetings are a vital part of this process.

“We understand the importance of striking a balance that protects the environment, while also supporting economic development, jobs and future trade growth.

“These are all key issues to the future prosperity of the Fitzroy region, and the Gladstone Community Cabinet meeting will provide an opportunity for locals to sit down with my Ministers and department heads to discuss issues that are important to them and their local community,” she said.

Member for Gladstone Glenn Butcher welcomed the announcement.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Gladstone people to meet Ministers and the Premier face to face,” Mr Butcher said.

“This shows how committed the Palaszczuk Government is to Gladstone and I encourage as many people as possible to come along and discuss any issues that they have with the Ministers and Premier.”

The Gladstone Community Cabinet will be held on Sunday January 31 at Tannum Sands State High School.

A public forum will be held from 1pm with formal deputations to take place from 2.30pm-4.30pm.

The community is encouraged to request a formal deputation to ensure a meeting.

    Visit www.qld.gov.au/communitycabinet or telephone 1800 448 377 to request a deputation.

Forms can also be requested from local State Members of Parliament or local council customer service centre.
