Treasurer and Minister for Trade
The Honourable Tim Nicholls

Opposition Treasury spokesman Curtis Pitt has today admitted that Labor has no plans for taking Queensland forward.

Treasurer Tim Nicholls said Mr Pitt’s comments on ABC radio showed the Labor Party had no policies and was not fit to govern.

“Curtis Pitt has belled the cat with this morning’s admission that Labor has not developed any plans to form Government,” Mr Nicholls said.

“How can Queenslanders trust the Labor Party to lead this state when they themselves say they are not ready to govern?”

Mr Nicholls said the Labor Opposition had repeatedly refused to outline its plan for Queensland in the lead-up to next year’s election.

“The Shadow Treasurer has been asked countless times about Labor’s economic plan and policies to pay down the $80 billion debt they incurred,” he said.

“After more than two and a half years we are still waiting for an answer.

“The only plan Labor has is a plan to recycle the same failed candidates that delivered record debt for Queensland.

“It’s clear Labor members haven’t learnt from their past mistakes, they have chosen from the same failed team, they have no real policies and have no way to fund them.

“Only the LNP has a strong plan to get the state back on track and ensure all Queenslanders can share in the benefits of economic growth.”
