The Honourable Campbell Newman

Bundaberg residents will have their chance to speak with Queensland Government ministers when the Cabinet meets in their region next month.

Premier Campbell Newman said his ministers were keen to hear residents’ concerns and their ideas to take the region forward.

“This is a great opportunity for Bundaberg locals to discuss matters with myself, ministers and heads of departments,” Mr Newman said.

“My Government is committed to supporting this vital region and I look forward to visiting it again next month.”

Member for Bundaberg Jack Dempsey said the region was important to the state’s economy as a major food bowl and tourism destination.

“We’re a resilient community and have bounced back from flooding in recent years and I’m excited that the entire Cabinet’s focus will be on the region,” Mr Dempsey said.

Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett welcomed the news that the LNP Government’s seventeenth Community Cabinet would meet in the region.

“I encourage residents to have their say on the issues that matter to them by contacting my office to request a meeting with the Premier or ministers,” he said.

Bundaberg Community Cabinet will be held on October 19-20.
