Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast locals will have the opportunity to meet with Queensland Cabinet Ministers next month as part of the Government’s Community Cabinet program.

Premier Campbell Newman said the Government is keen to hear from residents living in and around Central Queensland on any concerns they may have or projects they’d like to see developed in the area.

“Central Queensland plays such a vital role in Queensland’s economy,” Mr Newman said.

“Our Government promised we would grow a four pillar economy focusing on agriculture, resources, tourism and construction and this region is rich in all of these.

“I encourage residents, organisations and business all to take part in these meetings which will help shape this great region and the industries which are so important to it.”

The Keppel Community Cabinet will be held at Frenchville State School, North Rockhampton on September 14. It’s the sixteenth Community Cabinet held around Queensland by the Newman Government.

Member for Keppel Bruce Young welcomed the news that the focus would be on the region.

“I urge local residents to contact my office in order to organise meetings with Government Ministers,” Mr Young said.

“This is a great opportunity for locals to secure direct meetings with Ministers and key Government officials to discuss a range of topics.”
