North Brisbane communities will benefit from a lease transfer on Lagoon Street, Sandgate to All About Living Inc. allowing the group to provide much needed services to people with disabilities.

Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Andrew Cripps said he was pleased to be able to help the group transfer the property’s lease from the British Australian Club Inc. into their name.

“The Newman Government committed at the election to revitalise front line services,” Mr Cripps said.

“Through the lease transfer, All About Living Inc. has been able to secure a fit for purpose premises for its head office in Sandgate.

“The organisation delivers services such as domestic assistance, social support, personal care, respite care, home maintenance, goods and equipment, meals, transport, assessment and case management to the aged and people with disabilities.

“The new premises will provide much needed additional space and will also enable the extension of service delivery within the North Brisbane community.”

Member for Sandgate Kerry Millard said that she had backed the group’s application for lease transfer of the government land from the beginning, being a big supporter of the community group and the services they provide.

“I wanted to see them supported with the resources needed to continue, and was pleased to see their application submitted to the Department of Natural Resources and Mines in October 2013,” Ms Millard said.

“Some amendments were needed to the purpose and conditions of the lease before it was approved at the end of last year.

“I was proud to join the Minister during his recent visit to the new premises, knowing that we played a big part in what is a great outcome for All About Living, their clients and our community.”
