The Honourable Jann Stuckey

Queensland tourism representatives now have the opportunity to share their views on further boosting the state’s tourism sector, with registrations for the 2014 DestinationQ Forum on the Sunshine Coast now open.

DestinationQ is a key election commitment of the Newman Government, underpinning our goal to make Queensland Australia's number one tourism destination.

Minister for Tourism Jann Stuckey said that since its inception in 2012, the DestinationQ Forum had become Queensland’s premier tourism industry event.

This year’s forum, to be held on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 September 2014, would continue to deliver in partnership with industry, our vision for a successful and competitive sector that is strong and prosperous, founded on iconic experiences and diverse destinations.

“The 2014 DestinationQ forum will focus on the implementation of practical steps industry and government are taking to deliver Destination Success: the 20-year plan for Queensland tourism,” Ms Stuckey said.

“Themes will centre on product innovation and growing our destinations to achieve long-term success.

“Importantly this will be an opportunity for industry and government to report on the progress of our partnership and explore new actions to achieve our long-term vision.

“For the first time, the forum will include ‘Master Classes’ for attendees to gain a deeper understanding of current issues for the industry and learn from the success stories of experts.”

These optional sessions will be held on Monday 15 September 2014 and focus on 'China - Rise of the Independent Traveller' and 'Building Successful Local Partnerships'.

Two local venues are working in partnership to deliver the 2014 DestinationQ Forum on the Sunshine Coast at the Sheraton Noosa Resort and Spa and the Outrigger Little Hastings Street Resort and Spa.

Due to predicted demand, an expression of interest process will be used. To register your interest in attending go to www.destq.com.au.

Individuals will be notified of the outcome in July.
