Boost your business with webinar advice

Queensland businesses can hear the latest advice on maximising their social media and online impact by signing up to the Digital Learning Series, a free 10-part series of webinars being run by the Newman Government and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland.

Minister for Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games Jann Stuckey said the move would deliver on the election promises to grow a four pillar economy and revitalise frontline services.

“We recognised the vital role small businesses play in generating economic activity and employment across the state,” Ms Stuckey said.

“By offering online options for businesses, we make it easier for them to tap into the latest trends and advice simply by going online.”

Ms Stuckey said social media had rapidly become the avenue of choice for many businesses wanting to promote their products and services directly to customers.

“This series of informative webinars, starting later this month, are ideal for time-poor business operators who can’t always leave their enterprise to attend training courses,” she said.

“I encourage anyone wanting to upgrade their skills in using social media, online marketing, and search engines to promote their business, to sign up for the upcoming webinars.”

Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland CEO Stephen Tait said the recently released Digital Readiness Study results showed the divide between the technology industry and small businesses was getting closer but there was still work to be done.

“The survey showed the number of businesses using social media had jumped by 10 per cent, but we also found a lot of businesses were leaving money on the table when it came to online sales,” Mr Tait said.

“This webinar series is a great opportunity for small business owners to get up to speed on how they can improve the technology side of their business across the board from social media to search engine optimisation and information management.”
