Acting Premier
The Honourable Jeff Seeney

Early bird registration for Queensland’s pre-eminent major projects and infrastructure conference will close on 27 September.

The Major Projects Conference will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 7 November.

Deputy Premier and the Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Jeff Seeney said the conference was shaping up to be a key gathering of the state’s leading decision-makers.

“This conference comes at an important time in the state’s calendar and will give conference-goers the opportunity to hear first-hand how leading resource industry executives view the commercial horizon,” Mr Seeney said.

“I encourage interested parties to register before the early bird deadline to receive discounted rates for the conference.

“My department’s Director-General David Edwards and Queensland Commission of Audit member Dr Doug McTaggart will head a panel to discuss ‘Queensland – Great State Great Opportunity’.

“I will address the conference to give attendees an update on the Newman Government’s perspective on our efforts to provide the right platform for resource development.

“Also up for discussions will be Queensland’s emerging LNG industry which is set to start production in 2014-15, the state’s current export coal industry and potential new projects will also come under the microscope.

“The program will also cover Queensland ports and strategies for export, Queensland Airports, the 2018 Commonwealth Games venue redevelopment and the potential development of Brisbane’s Government Precinct.”

Mr Seeney said attendees would be provided with the scope to identify new business opportunities for the future.
