Buyer interest in the Mary Valley has prompted the Queensland Government to release an extra 15 rural and rural-residential properties onto the open market this Saturday.

Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Industry and Planning Jeff Seeney said the release of the properties, ranging from a five-bedroom family home on 2ha to a 7.5ha secluded bushland hideaway, was another important step in the strategy to get the Mary Valley back on track.

“Our plan to revitalise the Mary Valley through the staged release of properties for sale is really paying dividends, judging by the sales figures and the level of interest shown in previous listings,” Mr Seeney said.

“More than 250 people attended The Event held at Gympie RSL in late August, with more than 50 people registered to bid on the day, while 8,000 people visited the website in the month before the auction to view the 12 properties.

“Eight properties were sold under the hammer on the day, while an additional two sales were secured in post-auction negotiations, with the two remaining properties selling within a week.

“Following the three auctions, and sales through open listings and tenders, the sales tally currently stands at 46 settled, 15 unconditional and four under contract.
"
In addition, nine significant development leases have been signed, creating the potential for more than 80 new jobs in the Mary Valley.

“The release of this new tranche of properties has been timed to coincide with the school holidays, with the 15 properties being open for inspection on the weekend of 21 and 22 September, following the release of the price list on 18 September.”
