Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning
The Honourable Jeff Seeney

Residents can find out more about the draft Darling Downs Regional Plan when the State Government holds information sessions in St George and Goondiwindi this Wednesday and Thursday 21 and 22 August.

Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Jeff Seeney said it was important that people knew what was in the plan and to have their say during the consultation period.

“The draft plan seeks to address land use conflicts between agriculture and mining, two vital pillars of the Queensland economy, and provides greater certainty for the future of towns in the region,” Mr Seeney said.

“We released the draft plan on 28 June and have invited the community to provide feedback.

“As part of the consultation, departmental officers will be in St George on Wednesday 21 August and Goondiwindi on Thursday 22 August.

“Residents are invited to come along and look at maps and fact sheets which include details on the location of proposed priority agricultural and priority living areas.”
