Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning
The Honourable Jeff Seeney

The Queensland Government has released the Expression of Interest for the Broadwater Marine Project on the Gold Coast.

The Expression of Interest seeks delivery of a cruise ship terminal as part of an integrated tourism development on State Government-owned land on the Spit or on Wavebreak Island.

The integrated development could include hotel, casino, marina and super yacht facilities, retail, entertainment, hospitality, community open space and recreation facilities and a mix of residential development.

Local, national and international consortia are invited to submit their ideas and designs for the project.

Mr Seeney said the State has deliberately set out to create an opportunity for the market place to think laterally and innovatively in pitching its proposals. Project proposals should be exciting – yet feasible, viable and deliverable.

EOI submissions close on 31 January 2013 after which a shortlist will be determined, followed by a Request for Detailed Proposal phase and then announcement of a successful bidder by around mid-2013.

Consortia can register for the EOI documentation at www.dsdip.qld.gov.au/broadwater
