The Honourable Jeff Seeney

Eight high-quality acreage properties in the Mary Valley are set to go under the hammer at 10.30am on 8th December at the Marriott Hotel in Brisbane.

Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Jeff Seeney said the State-owned properties, ranging from one to 12.75 hectares, would be sold through the Helmsman auction system.

“We expect these properties will generate a high level of interest from buyers in Queensland and from interstate,” Mr Seeney said.

“Put simply, the Helmsman system means that on arrival at the auction, purchasers register and receive a buyer number.

“When the sale gets underway, all properties are put on the market simultaneously and bids are recorded on a screen enabling bidders to view progress for each property at all times."

Mr Seeney said buyers could then open bidding at the reserve price indicated for each property in the catalogue and contest bids in multiples as prescribed by the agent.

Bids are recorded with the buyer’s number on a large board. This allows people to bid on any number of properties at once and see at a glance whether their bid still stands or has been out-bid.

Mr Seeney said the Helmsman system would give buyers the opportunity to bid on and buy any property and pay competitive market value without any pressure.

“All properties have houses and are being offered with vacant possession,” Mr Seeney said.

The properties being sold are located at:

  • 29 Middle Creek Road, Federal– 2.21 ha
  • 57 Middle Creek Road, Federal – 2.24 ha
